KCCA FC midfielder Yassar Mugerwa has refuted reports circulated by his own club that they have reached an agreement to terminate his contract.
Last evening, KCCA issued an official statement revealing how they have parted ways with eight players.
These include Yassar Mugerwa, Kasirye Davis, Wafula Innocent Esimu, Erisa Ssekisambu, Kaddu Patrick Henry, Bukenya Joseph, and Gift Ali Abubakar.
“Yassar joined KCCA FC at the start of the 2021/22 season. He signed for two years until 2023. The club has terminated the contract,” reads the KCCA FC statement in part.
However, through his known social media platforms, Mugerwa disagreed with the club’s statement.
“Regard this as fake news. I haven’t terminated my contract, “said Mugerwa in a post.
He added, “I am a graduate who understands what “mutually terminated” means.”
When this website reached out to the KCCA FC officials for comment about Mugerwa’s post, the official spoke on condition of anonymity, saying, “The club statement says it all.”
However, sources reveal that Mugerwa wants KCCA to first clear some fees.
The former Super Cubs, SCVU, Nkumba University, and Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) player left Uganda in 2015 for South African giants Orlando Pirates, where he spent two seasons.
