40-year-old teacher arrested for allegedly sodomising over 18 pupils

Police in Butaleja district have in custody Makhombe Robert, a 40-year-old teacher at Mabale primary school, for allegedly sodomising over 18 pupils at the same school.

He allegedly committed the offence between January and May 2022.

Police say that the suspect was reported by the headteacher of the school, David Magson Nambula.

It is reported that out of the 18 pupils who are aged 7–12, 13 have already recorded statements to the police. They will then be taken for a medical examination.
