After two consecutive seasons of COVID 19 interruptions, the 2021/2022 season ended smoothly. Amidst stiff competition from Maroons FC and Kyetume Football Club, Lira Newcomers Blacks Power Football Club emerged as the champions.
Blacks Power Football Club becomes the second team from Northern Uganda to play in the Uganda Premier League after Boroboro Tigers Football Club, which last appeared in the top tier in the 2009/2010 season.
