Award-winning author Kakwenza Rukirabashaija has claimed to have ever eaten President Yoweri Museveni’s transport money and refused to show up.

Through his Twitter handle, Kakwenza made the ‘confession’, saying, “I once ate Museveni’s transport money and failed to show up. November 2020 I was called and I told the lady caller that I was in Rukungiri, broke without fuel. She sent me Shs5m. After withdrawing it, I switched off my phone for a month.”

According to Kakwenza, when he was arrested in December last year, the security operatives demanded the “transport money.”

“That was also an issue during torture,” he said.

Last month, the court issued an arrest warrant against Kakwenza who fled the country after being charged with insulting Museveni and his son, Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

It was not clear if the warrant would include an extradition request to Germany, where Rukirabashaija said he was exiled.
