The Ministry of labour and social development has invited a dead person, a one Yowasi Makaru Rwamango, the former chairperson of the Greater Bushenyi District for the Women’s Day celebration slated to take place next week at Kololo Independence Grounds.
According to an invitation seen by this website, the ministry is well aware that Makaru is dead, as they indicated in the invitation.
Makaru died on January 31, 2022, at his home in Mikyereere Cell, Central Division in SheemaMunicipality,y after losing the battle to diabetes.
He was at the helm of GreaterBushenyi, which included Sheema, Mitooma, Buhweju, Rubirizi, and Bushenyi districts for 13 years. He was also the pillar behind the split of Bushenyi into five other districts in 2010.
Earlier this week, Minister for Gender Hon Betty Amongi presented a statement on International Women’s Day slated for next week, March 8.
The theme for this year’s day is, “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow”.
“Uganda will put emphasis on male engagement in promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment in the context of climate change, environmental and disaster risk management,” said Amongi
