The world is in a state of chaos after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a ‘military operation’ in Ukraine and a lot of sportspersons have taken to social media as well as on the field to stand beside the affected country.
Uganda Cranes midfielder Farouk Miya, who had just joined Ukrainian side FC Lviv last month was by yesterday still stranded in Lviv.
The city of Lviv in the western part of Ukraine is about 70km towards the Poland border.
Miya took to his social media and posted saying; “Hi everyone, I’m fine and safe. I’m eternally thankful for the messages.”
More good news reaching us indicates that under the current situation, there are plans by his club to take the players to Poland.
