Security minister Jim Muhwezi has said that the censure motion against him by the Opposition Members of Parliament (MPs) is misguided.
While speaking to journalists yesterday, Muhwezi said that the censure motion is miscalculated, because the NRM government does not condone acts of human rights violation including torture.
The minister further said that the MPs are going for the wrong person.
“I cannot be personally liable for mistakes committed by individual security personnel,” said Muhwezi.
More than 80, mostly opposition MPs have signed the notice of motion seeking to censure the minister.
However, Kampala Central MP Muhammad Nsereko says any attempt to censure a Minister must be generated by the NRM because it has majority in Parliament. He adds that the opposition’s attempt to censure Muhwezi will not yield any results.
