Uganda’s long-distance runner, Jacob Kiplimo has won the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Kiplimo who kept his competitors at bay finished the race after clocking 57:56. The 21-year-old maintained a clear gap against two Kenyans Rodgers Kwemoi and Kenneth Kiprop Renju who finished second and third respectively. Kwemoi posted 58:30 while Kiprop 58:35.
This is Kiplimo’s third win in a row in all competitions including a world record 57:31 finish at the EDP Lisbon Half Marathon last year in November.
Also last year, Kiplimo finished third in the 10,000m and fifth in the 5000m at the Tokyo Olympics.
