The National Unity Platform (NUP) party has faulted Kimanya Kabonera legislator Dr. Abed Bwanika for making statements about holding negotiations with President Yoweri Museveni without consulting the party.
Earlier this week, Bwanika proposed to have NUP leadership hold a political dialogue with Museveni to secure freedom of the incarcerated party members.
However, the party says they can never negotiate with the government. The party leadership adds that negotiations with the current government are useless and cannot bring back its members who have been killed.
As for Bwanika, he insists that his party should meet President Museveni on humanitarian grounds.
“Let’s stop cheap politics, we need to negotiate with Museveni to release all innocent political prisoners,” he says.
