Apac District Council to arrest, fine parents who will fail to send their children back to school

Its public knowledge that schools are reopening this week with the return of students in boarding schools. The day scholars will effectively commence their studies on Monday.

Different districts have come up with different strategies to ensure all school-going children return to school.

In Apac, the district council has resolved to arrest and fine parents who will refuse or fail to send their children back to school.

In a council meeting held yesterday at Apac Scouts Hall, the district leaders agreed to fine parents Shs200000 claiming that majority are unwilling to take back their to school.

The leaders say that parents have involved their children in different commercial activities like alcohol selling and fishing.

Peter Obong Acuda, the council speaker urged parents to be protective of their children in the remaining few days at home.
