Abeeka Band to headline Reggae Life in the Forest Festival this weekend

This Saturday at Kira’s Nyungu Yamawe Forest, the Reggae Life in the Forest festival will feature the Abeeka band as the headlining act.

The festival’s inaugural edition is known as the “Qwom Qwom Reggae Life Festival.”

Qwom is a musical instrument as well as a general term that refers to sharing information, according to the event’s organizer, Paul Edyau.

The one-day Qwom Festival will feature workshops, cultural seminars, camping, an art exhibit, a food village, and musical interludes from DJs and performers.

By showcasing the top reggae performers Uganda has to offer, the event aims to enhance the nation’s musical heritage.

Edyau anticipates that the festival will occasionally draw hundreds of visitors from both domestic and foreign countries.

“The festival will be an added advantage to the country because it attracts tourists from all over the world. We are thus building Reggae in the forest to be one of the key attractions to Uganda annually, providing a very fun and authentic reason to travel to Uganda for this reggae experience,” he said.
