WORLD CUP: Meet Kenyan actress Awinja, who is “promoting mulondo” in Qatar

Although the Kenyan national football team is not competing in the world cup, Jacky Vike, better known as Awinja, is representing Kenya with pride.

At a World Cup game between Morocco and Belgium, the talented actress and well-known online comedian caused a stir when she arrived at the stadium carrying a sack of mulondo (Mondia whitei roots) and a bucket of roasted groundnuts.

In the video, Awinja was giving football fans a taste of “the mighty African power bank” by serving the mulondo for free.

Mulondo is a popular medicinal plant that is endemic to Africa. Since ancient times, the plant has been used to treat various ailments.

The roots are used for the treatment of anorexia, stress, bilharzia, and sexual dysfunction, as well as for general aches and pains.
