WORLD CUP: Embolo’s father’s home invaded by angry Cameroon supporters for scoring against his native nation

After Breel Embolo scored against his native Cameroon, angry Cameroonian supporters reportedly stormed his father’s home.

In yesterday’s World Cup match against Cameroon, Embolo scored Switzerland’s lone goal.

Embolo, who was born in Yaounde before moving to Switzerland with his mother, held his arms up more out of apology than pure joy.

“I’m extremely proud of my first World Cup goal, but it feels unusual for me,” the Monaco striker said after the game.

Reports state that their family home has been attacked, and his father is still a resident of Cameroon.
