AMELIA KYAMBADDE: I am under a lot of pressure to return to politics

Former Minister of Trade and cooperatives, Hon Amelia Kyambadde has asserted that she is facing significant pressure to return to politics.

Amelia said while she feels the pressure to get back into politics, she has many personal goals to first achieve during an appearance on NBS TV this morning.

Amelia was defeated by Hillary Kiyaga of the National Unity Platform, also known as Dr. Hilderman, for the Mawokota South Member Parliamentary seat in the 2021 general elections.

“I am under a lot of pressure to come back to politics, but politics is not the only job, I want to go into entrepreneurship and do my Ph.D. as well. I have other aspirations,” said Amelia.

“Politics is just a game, not very clean,” she added.

Furthermore, the former MP insisted that she had done everything for the people of Mawokota.

“When I look at my area, I did everything. What more am I going to add? You can’t say you are the only one, the alpha and omega,” she said.

Amelia, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Industry, responded to a question about how she is adjusting to life after being fired as a minister by saying,

“It was very difficult in the beginning to come to terms with the fact that I am no longer a minister, but now I have. If I were to write a book, I would write about the challenges of a legislator,” she said.
