Ogadia John Robert, a 22-year-old father from SAPIR village in Kangodo parish in Kyere sub-county in Serere district, has been charged with aggravated defiling his 19-month-old son and having unlawful carnal knowledge of the child.
The suspect and his wife allegedly split up in the year 2021 after she gave birth to their son.
In October 2022, after several failed attempts at reconciliation, he went to pick up his 19-month-old son from his mother.
He allegedly began sodomizing his son at night, which drew the neighbors’ attention and caused them to call the police.
The victim was medically examined and proof of a raptured anus, with bruises obtained. Also, the suspect was medically examined and found to be normal.
“We continue to call upon mothers whose children have been abused by a father or relative, to take courage and stand up for their child or children,” said police.
