Bukwo district officials hiding in forest due to PDM cash investigations

Following the arrival of a team from the Parish Development Model project to investigate the theft of Shs78 million from the program, Bukwo district officials have left their offices.

Jovrine Kalisa, a former Ibanda District Woman Member of Parliament, is in charge of the PDM officials.

The Chief Administrative Officer, Andrew Bukose, who is thought to have learned of the team later, has already been picked up by the team.

According to reports, the other officials ran away into the forest in the direction of the Kenya-Uganda border.

These include Franklin Kityo, the District Production Officer, Tom Toskin, Commercial Officer, Francine Cheruto, the District community development officer and Planner David Aliya.

The government introduced the Parish Development Model (PDM) to bring all Ugandans into the money economy. In the last financial year, it budgeted Shs17 million per parish.
