Celebrating Culture: Mbale set to host an Arts and Music Festival dubbed Art Rave

Art enthusiasts from the heart of Eastern Uganda, Mbale city and neighbouring areas are set to have a rewarding weekend as Mfrika, creatives and artistes will be celebrating local culture showcasing the art scene in a three day festival dubbed ARTRAVE slated for November 25th-27th.

The festival is set to provide a thoughtfully curated arts experience that will feature a curated selection of performers blending some of the region’s biggest acts, an art exhibition, poetry, fashion and tourism.

On Day 1, the art enthusiasts will be treated to an art exhibition and poetry starting from 8am and the day will be crowned off a music showcase from 6pm to 12pm.

Day 2 will comprise of workshops and will be crowned off with poetry performances from the likes of Wake, Joel Oumo, Isabirye Mitch and Mun Aga while Day 3 will compromise of a cultural center, a fashion show and a symposium that will focus on the past and present of art in Mbale city. 

With entrance at Shs5000 a day, Shs15000 for 3 days and 20,000 for VIP access, the festival aims to provide a unique opportunity for locals and traveling visitors alike to gather and enjoy the celebration of music and art in one of Eastern Uganda’s most beautiful and historical district.

The event organisers hope to use the festival to change the perspectiveof tourism in the city.
