Ugandan film Tembele scoops 10 nominations in the Africa Movie Academy Awards

Ugandan movie “Tembele” has been nominated 10 times for the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).

AMAA is a subsidiary of the Africa Film Academy and was established in 2005, aimed at facilitating the development and relevance of African film & cinema by providing a reward & recognition platform for filmmakers on the continent.

Meanwhile, Tembele is in different categories that include; Best Film, Best film in an African language, Best Director Morris Mugisha, Best actor in a leading role Nkaka Lukanyi, Best Actress in a leading role Ninsiima Ronah Solidad, and Achievement in screenplay Ninsiima Ronah & Morris Mugisha.

Others are Achievement in cinematography Izeak Ekuka, Achievement in soundtrack Adnan SSenkumba, Achievement in sound Adnan SSenkumba, and Achievement in costume design Ninsiima Ronah Solidad.

Tembele is a feature film that zooms into the very soul of a man working on a garbage truck in the city as he battles with a mental setback after losing a son.

Just last week, the film was selected by the Uganda Academy Selection Committee (UASC) to represent Uganda in the forthcoming 95th Oscars Awards due to take place in 2023.
