16-year-old boy allegedly kills his mother for overdrinking alcohol

Police in Oyam district is holding a teenager over the murder of his biological mother for overdrinking alcohol.

Robert Olwi aged 19, from Amwa Teduka Cell, Okule ward, Minakulu Town Council in Oyam District, is said to have beaten his mother, Sylvia Aol, to death after she returned home drunk from a bar.

Jimmy Okema, the North Kyoga region police spokesperson, confirmed the incident.

“It is alleged that when the deceased returned home from a bar very drunk, the suspect, out of anger, punched and kicked her, claiming that she was a shame to the family,” he said.

Okema said that they have already started investigating the matter.
