Speaker of parliament Anita Among has said there is a plan to assassinate her.

According to Among, it’s not hearsay but she has credible information that some people are always following her car.

“I have got a report and I have only shared it with the Leader of Opposition. I have got an assassination report wanting to assassinate me,” said Among while chairing plenary this afternoon. She, however, did not divulge why they are targeting her life.

“Whoever thinks he/she is going to assassinate Anita, I was put in this chair by God; if anybody wants, I have my village to go to; I will serve until I get tired,” she said.

Nonetheless, she ordered Prime Minister Robinnah Nabbanja to work together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and investigate the attempts against her life.

In response, Nabbanja assured the speaker that the NRM government is in charge and they will deal with whoever is threatening to take her life.

This is not the first time a big government official is coming out claiming threats against their lives. Ministers Beti Kamya and Evelyne Anite among others have in the past said the same.
