Uganda Airlines officials have failed to reappear before the Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE).

The officials led by Uganda Airlines CEO Jenifer Bamuturaki were scheduled to appear before COSASE this morning.

According to sources, the officials have requested COSASE to reschedule their meetings to the second week of September.

Also, the officials requested that the probe into its operations be done without the media. According to the chairperson of the board, the publication of the airline by the media is ruining the reputation of the airline.

However, Joel Ssenyonyi, the chairperson of the COSASE says the Airline management is not serious as they are requesting for rescheduling on the same day of the meeting.

Last week, COSASE kicked off the Uganda Airlines probe into losses amounting to over Shs160b, lack of job grades, strategic plan, poor management of contract files, and failure to seek approval from the National Information Technology Authority – NITA Uganda for procurement of IT software, among others.

COSASE questioned the requisite qualifications of Bamutaraki before putting her on the spot for enormous paychecks at the institution, with her position earning Shs87m monthly.
