INTERVIEW: Juliana on her life, music career, and what the future holds

It’s almost showtime at the Kampala Serena Hotel, where Juliana Kanyomozi is set to perform for her audience.

Juliana is undoubtedly one of the most popular Ugandan artists. She last held a mega concert about eight years ago, and this evening, the songbird will be gracing the stage again.

It has been a long time since you were on stage. Why now?

The question is why not now? Well, I’ve been away taking care of other areas of my life. But I’m happy to be back. Missed my fans a lot.

When was your last time on stage?

At my own concert, that is 8 years ago. But been performing at other events that I’m booked for.

Are we seeing any curtain raisers for the show?

Come expecting a fun night. Don’t want to share too many details.

What should people expect?

A Juliana they haven’t seen before. A night of great music.

How many songs should people expect you to perform?

As many as I can possibly sing in one evening.

Should we expect any of the artistes you collaborated with to perform at the show?

All I can say is, come prepared to have a good time. Come with your dancing shoes.

Artistes tend to come late on stage. What time should people expect you on stage, and for how long?

I’m one artiste who doesn’t play around when it comes to time. So come early so you don’t miss anything.

The show is dubbed The Boundless Concert. What’s behind the name?

It’s how I feel about the show I’m going to give you on that night. A boundless experience.

Should your fans expect new music from you now that you are back?

Absolutely. I’m currently in the studio finishing production.
