Why is CAF president Motsepe visiting Uganda?

The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Dr. Patrice Motsepe, is set to visit Uganda today.

According to the CAF website, Dr. Patrice Motsepe will land at Entebbe Airport this afternoon.

The CAF President was in Morocco for the official opening of the ongoing TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) last week before he traveled to Juba, South Sudan this morning.

The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has also confirmed that besides visiting some of the football projects, Dr. Motsepe will also meet President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among, FUFA Executive and key football stakeholders.

CAF reveals that the working visits are part of Dr. Motsepe’s efforts to engage and foster closer relations among governments, business communities, and football leadership on the continent to develop and grow football in Africa.
