The Central Police Station, Kampala, conducted an intelligence-led disruptive operation at the Kisekka Market and Clock Tower areas on Monday and arrested 53 suspected criminals.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire says due to a surge in cases of petty theft along Nakivubo Channel, they decided to raid the “dangerous” areas.

“The aim of the operation was to rid the areas of suspected criminal gangs that hit and robbed motorists and pedestrians during rush hours,” he said.
