VIDEO: Minister Nankabirwa confronted by angry protestors in Canada

Noisy protesters that seem to subscribe to the People Power movement and the National Unity Platform party have “greeted” the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Ruth Nankabirwa, as she arrived in Canada.

Nankabirwa, who was donning a yellow kitengi stepped into a “lion’s den” when a section of Ugandans in Canada confronted her, protesting over rising commodity prices, wastage of taxpayers’ money, and continued dentition of political prisoners, among other issues.

“I came here on my money,” the minister responded before finding her way out.

Also, she posted on her known Twitter account saying,

“See the politics of intolerance. NUP thought they’d stop our NRM symposium in Canada to discuss the consolidation of the NRM government’s achievements in the sectors of social, political, and economic and the role played by Ugandans in the diaspora. But all their efforts failed.”

Nankabirwa, together with former minister Nakiwala Kiyingi, ICT minister Chris Baryomunsi, Balaam Baruhagara, and other NRM members, are in Canada for the NRM chapter symposium 2022.
