Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze Bakireke is set to be airlifted to the US where she will receive further medical treatment.
Nambooze was hospitalized after she slid and fell on the stairs at her home, sustaining injuries. She is admitted to Rubaga Hospital.
However, the MP has been nursing back and chest pains for a while. In 2018, she went to India for treatment, and since then she has been walking on crutches.
According to the New Vision, the Clerk to Parliament, Adolf Mwesige, confirmed that Nambooze will be flown to the USA for specialized treatment.
“We have finalized arrangements to airlift her to the US for treatment. She is our member, entitled (to special medical treatment) and she is sick,” said Mwesigye.
However, the public has expressed mixed views about airlifting Nambooze.
