I don’t know her- Andrew Mwenda responds to allegations of sexual misconduct against Sheebah

Veteran journalist Andrew Mwenda has denied emerging accusations that he sexually harassed singer, Sheebah Karungi.

Earlier this week, Sheebah took to her social media and narrated how a ‘respectable’ public figure tried to sexually harass her. The singer didn’t mention the name of the public figure, something that created speculation about who harassed the singer.

Mwenda’s name has been massively brought up as the ‘respectable man’ suspected to have harrassed Sheebah.

This continued accusation seems to have forced Mwenda to come out of hiding. Through his social media, Mwenda this morning ranted about the incident.

Sheebah’s revelation has been labeled a stunt. He also claimed not to know Sheebah.

“I have never in my life met this Sheebah and had never even heard of her until this video came out and allegations were made against me,” Mwenda said in his rant.

He claims to have contacted the singer about the accusations, but she didn’t respond to him.

“After five days, I deliberately contacted her via WhatsApp, asking her to clarify that I have never met her, let alone tried to rape her. She ignored my messages, didn’t pick up my calls, and claimed it was her “management” reading these messages.

I find it strange that Sheebah feels no obligation to expose the man who raped her but is comfortable having the wrong person being accused of the crime,” he said.

According to Mwenda, he believes the singer lied to the public about the incident.

“It seems to me that for all her pretense in that video, this incident may never have happened; and if it did, Sheebah saw it as an opportunity to do a publicity stunt in order to promote herself on social media,” he said.
