Afande Kasingye narrates how he woke up ready to report for duty only to be reminded by wife that his contract had expired

Known for his social personality, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Asan Kasingye has narrated his first day after handing over his office.

On Tuesday, Kasingye, who has been in the police for the last three decades, handed over his office to his deputy, ACP Hillary Kulaige, after the expiration of his contract.

‘The Twitter Cop’ as referred to by tweeps on the blue app, has used the famous social media to narrate his experience so far.

“Contrary to online reports that I “quit” or “resigned”, the fact is, my contract expired and I had to hand it over. It may be renewed or not. I am proud to bow out head high.

The problem is, I woke up this morning, and put on my uniform. At the dining table, my wife reminded me that it was over🙈, “Kasingye said in a tweet.

Kasingye is one of the eight senior police officers whose contracts have not been renewed by President Yoweri Museveni, commander of the armed forces.
