The police at Kasangati are investigating a case of aggravated torture of a 3-year-old female juvenile.

The 3-year-old was allegedly burnt using hot water by the stepmother, Jamila Namugerwa, a resident of Bulamu Zone in Kasangati Town Council in Wakiso District.

The incident is said to have happened on March 15, 2022, at their home in Bulamu.

Kitimbo Musisi, the victim’s father, has also been arrested, and all are currently detained at Kasangati Police Station.

The child has been handed over to the Wakiso Probation Officer, who will in turn look for an appropriate home for the child.

According to the Kampala Metropolitan deputy spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, police have examined the child and discovered she has healing scars, a sign that shows she was tortured continuously by her parents.

“Severe burn wounds were also seen in her lower body (private area). Physical abuse of children is a crime. We warn all parents and guardians, who beat children to stop the abuses, “he said.
