SONG REVIEW: Vocalist An-Known sustains impressive run with “Omega”

It is a shame to admit that stellar talent among the new crop of artistes is hard to come by, and this is a bias that industry participants can attest to.

However, like the proverbial diamond in the rough, new school vocalist cum lyricist An-Known, manages to shine through this muddy space.

His run thus far has been tremendous, churning out intricately woven love poems and melodies, with “Doctor” and “Radio Call” sticking out like a sore thumb. His melody is incredibly infectious that iconic singer Iryn Namubiru wanted in, performing her own rendition of the aforementioned single.

That’s now a talent to be hailed.

Fast forward, post-lockdown, the youngster still got his eyes on the prize as he impresses with his latest offering, “Omega”.

“Omega” is yet another addition to An-Known’s lovers’ anthology. Producer Spot Music sets An-Known up for laidback and consistent piano keys, a challenge An-Known wades through with his enchanting penmanship and sweet boy vocal prowess.

His shy signature “boy next door” flair permeates through his new offering like a gong on a quiet night. With over 100,000 YouTube views, An-Known’s mischief does the magic as he plays a game of hiding and seeking with his melody, but with the trickery of a craftsman that well knows his corners.

The chorus is a slice of abracadabra as his idiosyncratic lyrics, fused with his cheeky melody, distort the mind-like stuff of the abstract.

An-Known is back with more sugar, spice, and everything nice. He crosses all the “ts” and dots the “i”. In the west of the continent, you can compare his hot adolescent flairs to Rema’s of “Dunmebi” fame.

This kid is a maverick, watch the space.
