Police identify dead body stuffed in a sack by security guard

The Territorial Police in Kampala Metropolitan and Nansana Division have identified the body that was stuffed in a sack and intercepted while being transported by Nabasa Gideon, a 31-year-old private security guard for Afrisafe guards on Sunday at 4 a.m. as that of Kagezi Amon, a resident of Kijangi village in Hoima district.

According to police spokesperson Fred Enanga, the deceased had hired a motorcycle with registration number, UFG 635P on March 7, 2202. from Owakukikoru Denis, a businessman from Kijangi village. He paid him Shs10,000 for a self-drive to Buseruka town on private business.

He however disappeared with the motorcycle and joined Nabasa Gideon and Twinamasiko Ivan at Katogo zone in Bwaise.

“It is unfortunate that the deceased was murdered at the home of the two suspects in Bwaise.

Afterward, Nabasa Gideon removed the deceased’s clothing and stuffed the body of Kagezi Amon, in a sack, “Enanga said.

The suspect was intercepted while transporting the body to the dump. The patrollers who arrested him grew suspicious when they found him pushing the motorcycle loaded with baggage at 4 am. They immediately arrested him after finding a dead body in the sack.

Enanga said a search was conducted at their home in Katogo zone, Bwaise, where a mattress and bedsheets stained with suspected blood were recovered. Also recovered were the clothes of the deceased, stained with blood, as well as other clothes.

Investigations to establish the motive are ongoing. We are also interested in how the stolen motorcycle, registration number UFG 635P, from Hoima found its way to Kampala, “he said.
