MP Zaake to Parliament’s committee on discipline: I was already found guilty of allegations as my security detail was withdrawn

Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament (MP), Francis Zaake has appeared before Parliament’s committee on rules, privileges, and discipline to answer questions about his alleged abusive tweets against Deputy Speaker Anitah Among.

Zaake who demanded fairness told the committee that ‘the above’ already found him guilty of the allegations.

“I was already found guilty of these allegations even before the matter first came to the floor of Parliament. The security detail to which I’m entitled as a commissioner, was unceremoniously withdrawn without any explanation,” said Zaake.

Zaake blames the social media outburst on Among’s mockery of his torture ordeal.

“The Deputy Speaker should be the one appearing before this committee, not me. Nevertheless, I forgive her. I forgive her not just for making fun of my plight, but also for the mob justice she is about to preside over against me,” said Zaake.

He stated that the proceedings are not intended to establish the truth.

“Their purpose is to knot the rope with which the mob, after lynching him will hang him to fit the narrative that he committed suicide,” he said.
