On Sunday, reports about the alleged ‘abduction’ of Former Kawempe South legislator Mubarak Munyagwa circulated on social media.

A day later, he was found with no injuries but allegedly with some chest pain.

While appearing on a local TV last evening, Munyagwa said that he was intercepted around Bwaise on his way to NBS TV.

He said two vehicles that included a Premio and a drone intercepted him before plain-clothed security operatives jumped out and attempted to arrest him.

“I am putting this very clear, nobody will ever throw me in that police van alive. Either me or him, something nasty will happen. You know they (police officers) are very weak, I think their power is in the guns,” Munyagwa said before revealing that he fought with the security operative until he managed to escape using a boda boda.

He further stated that, “Someone will ask me why I took long to inform them but you know my phone had no battery and you know how hard it is to get an iPhone cable in the village where I was.”

“We are certainly tired of giving those arrest accounts because the police will come out and say that they are not aware of it. What happened to me has been happening for a long time,” he added.
