I met my father when I was 22, I thought life would get better but it turns out he also needed help- Pia Pounds opens up

Singer Tracy Kirabo, better known as Pia Pounds has come out to share an emotional story.

Pia says she grew up without knowing her father and only met him in 2018 when she was 22 years old.

The 25-year-old singer said that life without her father was so hard and her prayer was to meet him hoping that maybe life will get better.

Unfortunately, the father was also in need of help.

Speaking in an interview on a local television today morning, the kind and mellow ‘Tupaate’ singer opened up about her relationship with her dad, saying her father loves her.

“I did not know my father growing up. He showed up in 2018. We were looking for each other and right now, I am just getting to know about him,” Pia Pounds.

She added, “When I met my father after years of searching, I thought life would get better. I thought he would take care of me. Turns out he also needed care. He loves me and I am working to better his life and the lives of my siblings.”

Pia who declined to mention her father’s name further went ahead and explained how she ended up being a musician without her father’s support.

“My brother took me to a studio where he convinced me to be a backup. The producer noticed that I had a good voice and offered to give me a song. That song was my first,” Pia Pounds narrated.

She also talked about how the allegations of her dating BET Award winner Eddy Kenzo affected her career. This was after she was signed to Eddy Kenzo’s Big Talent label.

“I quit my first job in the music industry after a period of unhappiness. Bottles were being thrown at me on stage and I could not complete interviews without being emotional. This was after some false rumors that were shadowing my career,” Pia Pounds noted.

Pia Pounds is currently one of the most promising female talents in the artform following a successful 2021 where her song, Tupaate, became a nationwide sensation.
