Parliament has approved a resolution to build a house in honor of Late Bank of Uganda Gorvoner, Emmanuel Mutebile.

In a tweet yesterday, deputy speaker of Parliament Anita Among proposed that the official Bank of Uganda Governor’s residence should be given to the Mutebile’s family.

However, the controversial proposal has taken a new twist as Parliament has passed a resolution to build a house for fallen Governor Emmanuel Mutebile. He has been living in a BOU house all along despite earning Shs53 million per month.

This comes in the trail of Betty Mutebile, the fallen Governor’s widow, requesting Government officials not to throw them out of the government house located in Nakasero. They’ve been staying there for 21 years.

The widow said that the late never constructed for them any house in Kampala.

The proposal has sparked controversy across social media platforms as people come with mixed feelings.
