PHOTOS: Ruger lights up Big Brunch concert

Whenever someone hears East Meets West, their mind will run to the name of the company that brought Ruger to Uganda to perform at the Big Brunch. In this case, East Meets West means East Africa meeting West Africa and last Sunday at Dungu Resort in Munyonyo, East African artistes from particular Uganda met with West African artiste Ruger.

The show that was meant to happen on Saturday was instead pushed to Sunday because of unavoidable circumstances. It was perhaps because of the change of dates from Saturday to Sunday that people decided to turn up slowly and many regarded the concert as a flop. A few hours into the night, the venue was filled mostly in the VIP section and about 300 people in the ordinary section of the event.

Ruger stepped on stage at around midday and performed for about one hour. Before coming to Uganda, most showgoers were overheard saying Ruger only has three songs that are Dior, Snapchat, and Bounce. At the show, the Nigerian superstar performed about 10 songs before the famous three and surprisingly, some of the Ugandans were singing along to the little-known songs.

Azawi also put up a good show with most of her hit songs like Slow dancing, My Year, Quinamino, and Crave among others. The stage, lighting, and sound were on point with the production from ATS events.

Gamers Empire which was also at the show put up an experiential tent with gaming equipment that saw most party-goers taking part in the gaming experience.
