Kakwenza charged with two counts of offensive communication, remanded to Kitalya Prisons

Late last year, award-winning novelist, Kakwenza Rukirabashaija was arrested for ‘insulting’ President Yoweri Museveni and First son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba on Twitter.

The greedy barbarian novelist has been in detention since December 28, 2021 causing public out-roar from the international community and Ugandans both in the diaspora and at home.

Following the public outcry, Kakwenza has today been charged.
“Kakwenza has today, January 11, 2022, been charged at Buganda Road Court with two counts of offensive communication and been remanded to Kitalya Uganda Prisons till January 21,2022,” posted Charles Twiine, the Public Relations Officer Criminal Investigation Department.

This comes days after the Makindye Chief Magistrate Court ordered security operatives to produce detained novelist Kakwenza Rukirabashaija in Court to be officially charged or unconditionally be released from detention.
