MP Ssemujju on bid for new Presidential Election system: Museveni will not accept the proposal because he wants to subject himself to an election and rig it

Move to amend the Presidential Election Act where only Members of Parliament will be allowed to vote has become noteworthy as movers and shakers of this country are continuing to react to the proposal to remove universal suffrage.

Kira Municipality Member of Parliament, Hon Ssemujju Nganda is the latest to comment about the proposed bid.

While appearing on NBS TV’s Frontline show last evening, Ssemujju believes that Museveni will not accept the proposal for personal reasons.

“Knowing Museveni, this is not a proposal he will buy because he will want to subject himself to an election and rig it,” said Ssemujju.

However, the legislator thinks that since most of the NRM politicians are fortune hunters, they’re always scheming and guessing what Museveni wants or is interested in.

“They’ll come up with all manner of proposals to earn a fortune from him since he’s always deceptive,” he said.

Ssemujju however, warns them that Museveni’s body has changed because of advanced age.

“Even if you like him, you may need a wheelchair to push him for nominations in 2026,” he said.
