The eagerly awaited Kayunga district LC5 by-election has this morning kicked off with voters getting into ques as early as 6:30 am.
However, there are reports of alleged irregularities being captured on video.
One of the videos being shared on social media shows alleged ballot-stuffing at Namavundu Church polling station.
According to the voices in the video, polling agents that subscribe to the National Unity Platform (NUP) party are heard questioning Electoral Commission agents on why ballots are already in the ballot box at 6:30 am yet voting has to start at 7:00 am.
Meanwhile, stiff competition in the Kayunga by-election is expected to be between NUP’s Harriet Nakwedde and NRM’s Andrew Muwonge.
