Kira Municipality legislator, Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has accused the current regime of running the state like it’s their personal property.
According to Ssemujju, many of the leaders in government especially those that participated in the bush war think that they are a bigger shareholder in Uganda than any other person.
He claimed that they have managed to rule Uganda for this long not because they are loved but rather the masses fear them because of their violent history.
“You rule us because you wield guns and we may fear, not because we love you. If I say something you will kidnap me like you are kidnapping all our agents here in Kampala and taking them to unknown destinations,” said Ssemujju while appearing on NTV The Spot show.
He urged that Uganda needs to build democratic institutions that are accountable to the citizens and not individuals.
