Rajiv Ruparelia and his co-driver Enoch Olinga pulled off a commanding performance to win the Kabalega Rally in Hoima. That was his maiden National Rally Championship victory.
Rajiv finished the event in 01:45:41 powering his VW Polo.
“It was a great event although I had a bit of mishap in the first stage. I had to play a bit with the car and get it out. (The) rest was okay,” said Rajiv.
Rajiv finished 45 seconds ahead of Duncan Mubiru, who leads the NRC championship with 350 points, 70 points ahead of the next placed competitor.
Ronald Sebuguzi and Anthony Mugambwa came third while Omar Mayanja and Hussein Mukuye finished fourth overall.
Hassan Alwi and James Mwangi who are now second on the NRC championship with 280 points, finished fifth overall in Hoima.
