Makerere Community Church Pastor, Martin Ssempa has said that the government, Ministry of Health in specific should not coerce the public to vaccinate against COVID-19.
According to Ssempa, instead of the ministry issuing threats, it should instead sensitize the people on how getting vaccinated will help in stopping COVID-19.
“We should educate them (people). It must be voluntary, like wearing a condom,” said Ssempa. Not so long ago that the pastor declared his ‘love’ for live sex.
Since March this year, the Health Ministry has been carrying out a campaign to have almost half the country’s population vaccinated against the deadly virus.
However, the Ministry is concerned about the low numbers of vaccinated people despite an increase in the number of vaccines in the country.
Earlier this week, Ainebyoona Emmanuel, the Health Ministry spokesperson revealed that they are considering the idea of restricting access to public places for people who are not yet vaccinated against Covid-19.
National Medical Stores yesterday announced that no staff or visitors will be allowed at their premises if not fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
