Whenever an incident or dramatic scandal occurs these days we are always told that there are two sides to every story. This seems to be the case in matters concerning Bethel Healing Ministries Pastor Irene Manjeri and husband Dr Vincent Katongole.
At the beginning of this week, Pastor Manjeri came out and accused her husband of impregnating three other women outside their marriage adding that he is even planning to marry another woman.
While talking on a phone interview, Manjeri also revealed that besides the infidelity from her husband, there have also been death threats.
“I got the news that the man is planning to marry another woman yet I have been patiently waiting for him for almost ten years. He has wasted my time because at 51. I can’t sleep in a house without an AK47 for the fear of my life. My advice to them is that they don’t need to kill me for him to be able to marry another woman. I don’t have any problem with him marrying,” said a sobbing Manjeri.
She maintains that her husband’s actions have left her speechless, especially the criticisms towards him.
Katongole has however, also come out to give his side of the story and it is a whole other direction from his wife’s version.
He declares that they had officially divorced many years back and that he got tired of being mistreated by Manjeri.
While speaking in a live interview, Manjeri’s husband had the official court documents which showed that their marriage was officially cancelled by the Court.
According to Katongole, Manjeri is a very different person at home compared to her church persona claiming she always threatened him with her close connections to State House and the then IGP Kale Kayihura.
“I officially divorced Manjeri in 2002/2003 after she treated me badly many times. I only returned to live with her after being counselled by a number of pastors. She’s a very different person at home from what she is on the pulpit. I had become a slave in the house and was tortured a lot. She ordered the security guard to lock me out of the house over 14 times just because I had returned home late. But I have businesses that I run and can’t be dancing on a woman’s fingertips.
He added, “She doesn’t want to be criticized and even keeps a gun inside the house. Whenever we had arguments she would run to the room to pick it up and even used to threaten me about how she has connections to State House and the former IGP Kayihura,”
He also explained that for the last 14 years, he’s been living alone at his home in Kisaasi after being mistreated by Manjeri in their home in Entebbe.
