Following, the remand of renowned entertainment journalists Isaac Kawalya popularly known as Kaiyz, Williams Makuliro alias as Mako, and Brian Kennedy Wako to Kitalya Prison.
Next Media services, which owns NBS TV and Sanyuka TV has come out and made an official statement on the arrest of its employees.
According to the statement shared on Sanyuka television official social media pages, they failed to secure bail for their Sanyuka TV’s ‘Morning xpress’ show presenters but are aiming at securing it in time.
“Today after the presiding Magistrate citing being constrained by time to hear the bail application in the case in which our presenters, Isaac Kawalya alias Kaiyz, Brian Wako and Williams Mako are involved vs a one Omulangira Ssuna.
Our staff were remanded to Kitalya Prisons. Resultantly, the three have denied their rights to apply for bail over a matter arising from remarks on Sanyuka TV’s daily morning xpress TV show founded on Omulangira Ssuna’s own declarations all, and the justification will stand. We are undertaking all necessary measures to have them released as soon as possible,” Sanyuka TV posted.
The Morning Show presenters were remanded to Kitalya prison for defamation and are to be there until the 15th of October 2021.
