Following a Tuesday press conference where Victoria University announced that socialite Shanitah Namuyimbwa aka Bad Black is their student, sections of the media misconstrued the statement to imply that her relationship with the university is not that of a Brand Ambassador.
Victoria University has released another statement to clarify the misunderstanding and confirm that Bad Black is indeed their Brand Ambassador.
“We would like to re-affirm that Ms Shanitah Namuyimbwa is our Universiry Brand Ambassador; contrary to interpretation made in some media circles,” a September 29 press release signed by the Vice Chancellor Dr. Lawrence Muganga reads.
“This communication re-affirms our initial and continued position that Ms Namuyimbwa is our university Brand Ambassador. The university has to this effect signed a memorandum of understanding with her,” the statement reads in part.
“We have explained to her responsibilities and obligations of a Brand Ambassador of this fast growing transformative institution. We are here to be part of a new chapter in her life and she has committed herself to us and the public,” Muganga said.
“Victoria University has an innate mandate to transform society through providing quality and meaningful education that works for everyone without discrimination or segregation,” he added.
On top of her ambassadorial duties, Bad Black is going to pursue short courses in English and Digital Marketing at the University.
