President Yoweri Museveni has condemned the coup d’état that happened in Guinea over the weekend where President Alpha Condé was ousted by the Special forces unit.
Speaking during an interview with France24, Museveni said coups were part of Africa’s problems in the 1960’s and they are of low value. He described the incident as ‘step backwards’.
He said the soldiers who ousted President Alpha Condé were wrong and should leave power immediately.
“I condemn the coup, I don’t accept the idea of coups, they are not a solution,” Museveni said.
Over the weekend on Sunday, heavy gunfire echoed around the capital of Guinea before Special Forces Colonel came out and confirmed that his unit had ‘Seized’ Guinea’s President.
