As the 2021 UK-Uganda Trade and Investment Convention draws closer, the organizers of the annual summit in the United Kingdom have appointed Pastor Edwin Musiime the convention’s first-ever ambassador.
Musiime, the CEO of Crest Group that incorporates several companies such as the Property Show franchise starts his new role only a week shy of the 2021 convention that is slated for Saturday, September 11, albeit virtually.
“I am very humbled by the opportunity to serve the interests of both great nations Uganda and the UK whose trade and investment relationships goes a long way and I’m much looking forward to this year’s Convention,” Musiime said while accepting the role.
The 12th instalment of the UK-Uganda Convention will be opened by the Prime Minister of Uganda, Robinah Nabbanja under the theme, “Connecting investors with Uganda’s investment and trade opportunities.”
The Convention brings together high-profile business and government delegates, professionals and leading experts from Uganda, the UK and the world at large to discuss trade and investment opportunities in Uganda and to market Ugandan products.
The virtual event this year will feature renowned leaders and business personalities like; Lord Popat, UK Trade Envoy to Uganda and Rwanda, Robert Mukiza, the Director-General Uganda Investment Authority, H.E Amb. Julius Moto, Uganda’s High Commissioner to UK, Rajiv Ruparelia, Managing Director of the Ruparelia Group, Anthony Kituuka, the Executive Director of Equity Bank Uganda, among others experts and leading business leaders.
“I am excited to welcome Mr Edwin Musiime as the Convention’s brand ambassador for Uganda. As a team, we appointed him due to his integrity, love for the growth of Uganda and Ugandans in the diaspora. I have no doubt that Edwin will steer us amidst the new challenges such as COVID-19, new market dynamics to reach new heights,” William Mutenza, the founder of the annual UK-Uganda Convention said in an interview.
