A social post from former Prime Minister of Uganda, Dr Ruhakana Rugunda has attracted mixed reactions on social media especially twitter after he made a ‘sudden’ post revealing how he has no intentions to become Uganda’s next President.

“I have read social media posts and suggestions that I should run for President in 2026. I would like to make it known that I have no such intentions or plans,” Rugunda said in a tweet on Tuesday, August 31.

However, majority have reacted to his tweet wondering where the reports of him running for President were circulated.

Many of the respondents on his tweet claim his social media presidential reports are non existent.

Looks like the Ugandan version of Facebook that was promised is already operational. No one else apart from Ndugu Rugunda has seen these postings. But the way harbouring Presidential ambitions has become a crime in this cowntry! https://t.co/qz7SLIvHEf
