The Uganda Silverbacks have excellently bounced back from their fall in the first game against four-time champions Senegal at the on-going AfroBasket Championship in Kigali.
The Silverbacks were disappointingly whitewashed by Senegal 93-55 in the first game.
The boys have proved to have picked positives from the loss as they have managed to overturn their fortunes in the second game by convincingly defeating Cameroon 80-66.
The victory becomes Uganda’s first ever group win at the championship.
Both teams were clinically offensive in the first quarter hence the score being tight 27-22, in favour of the Silverbacks.
Uganda accelerated their tempo in the second quarter as they made good shots. And its evident at blow of half time whistle, the boys had a 11 points lead margin (44-33).
Their good performance continued in the third quarter of the game. Cameroon put up a challenge in the 4th quarter but it was not enough to overcome Uganda’s lead. Uganda won 80-66.
Their next group opponent is South Sudan on Sunday.
