The Ministry of Health will today on Monday June 28 resume another phase of COVID-19 vaccination accross country. Uganda had run out COVID-19 vaccines but on June 16, the health ministry received a batch of 175,200 AstraZeneca vaccine doses, and it is expecting 688,000 mores doses shortly.
After a week-long exercise of dispatching the vaccines to all the designated centres across the country, COVID-19 Vaccination exercise resumes today on Monday June 28 until Friday 2 July 2021.
According to the health ministry, the groups that will be immunized first are; All those who have reached 12 weeks since receiving their 1st dose of the vaccine and the Health workers.

With lockdown in place and need to keep social distance, in Kampala and Wakiso, the ministry has designated various vaccination centres within a walkable distance.

Before the country ran out of vaccines, a total of 834, 271 Ugandans had been vaccinated, with only about 40,000 of them having got a second jab.
